Maryam Library Foundation's Next Chapter: Bringing the Joy of Reading to GHPS School, Avaragola

We at the Maryam Library Foundation believe that every child, regardless of their circumstances, deserves access to the transformative power of books and education. Our latest project takes us to the heart of Avaragola, a village in Hukkeri taluk, Belagavi district, Karnataka, where we are thrilled to announce the upcoming construction of a brand-new library at Government Higher Primary School.

A Glimpse into the School

The School is home to 296 bright and eager students, ranging from grades 1 to 7. These students, taught by eight dedicated teachers, are learning and growing within the rich tradition of the Kannada language and culture. Thanks to the generosity of OSAAT, the school already boasts three classrooms and a toilet block, constructed in 2021. Currently, a small collection of 500 books is housed within the school, allowing students to borrow one book per week.
