Making a difference

Moha Ishmael Oloo

Having been born and being brought up in a poor background with a single struggling mother and 4 siblings, all through his childhood he used to sit down and visualize how he wanted his life to be and always wished that no other kid would go through anything less than a comfortable, deserving lifestyle.

Moha Ishmael Oloo, is a Video producer, a Journalist, an I.T expert and a freelance Technician.

Growing up, he used to lack most of the basic needs a child needs and being brought up in a village with no electricity meant growing up secluded from the rest of the world. Getting educated was out of luck and graduating with a university degree was like a dream  come true.

Apart from his media and freelance work, Moha manage Help Aid Africa;s school sponsorship programs for over 80 students coming from underprivileged homes giving them a chance to have formal education and he also runs children homes under Help Aid Africa  with his motivation being wanting to see all these orphans and abandoned kids getting a home and a life that they deserve to have, putting smiles in their faces and seeing to it  that their needs are met and that they live a comfortable life like any other kids out there living with their parents.

It also became his mission to work with young people to help show them the way, not save them , But help them understand that there are choices that can be made today that will make a difference for the rest of their lives. He does this through his talent management program and youth empowerment programs in which he started an audio-visual studio to help youth discover and utilize their talents in a way that benefits them and the community at large .

His youth empowerment program see to it that once in a month they hold community empowerment conferences and town cleaning exercises and talk to the community members especially the youth  on matters regarding drug abuse, morality and self efficacy .

The world is moving towards digital education and while it took him 14 years of his childhood before he could even touch a computer and learning from them, He began an initiative to introduce digital learning to kids all through from their childhood. Have done this through a partnership with different organizations. Currently, he implements it through Help Aid Africa in which they install computer labs in rural African schools because they believe that attaining some level of computer literacy enhances job opportunities , creates space for new ideas, enables your self-confidence and helps to be innovative. With the  world going digital, you are on the right path to putting your skills on the map.
