Maryam Library Foundation's Impact Expands: Nurturing Young Minds in Rajakatti
The Maryam Library Foundation is excited to announce our second groundbreaking project in the Hukkeri taluk, Belagavi district area: the creation of a vibrant new library at Government Higher Primary School, Rajakatti. We believe that education is the cornerstone of a thriving community, and our libraries are a testament to this belief.
GHPS Rajakatti: A School with Potential
GHPS School is a bustling hub of learning, where 305 students from grades 1 to 7 are guided by nine dedicated teachers. These students, immersed in the vibrant Kannada language and culture, are eager to explore the world through books and knowledge. Thanks to OSAAT's generous contribution in 2021, the school has three classrooms and a toilet block, providing a solid foundation for our library project.
Building on a Strong Foundation
GHPS Rajakatti has a small library with 590 books, but we see an opportunity to elevate this space into a dynamic learning center. The school has generously allocated a separate room for the new library, allowing us to design a welcoming and inspiring environment that encourages exploration and discovery.
Our Vision for GHPS Rajakatti Library
Our aim is to create a library that goes beyond books. We envision a space that:
Celebrates Kannada Language and Culture: We'll expand the collection with a rich variety of Kannada-language books, catering to all reading levels and interests.
Fosters a Love of Reading: Cozy reading corners, comfortable seating, and inviting displays will make reading an irresistible adventure.
Encourages Active Learning: We'll provide resources like educational games, puzzles, and multimedia tools that complement the school's curriculum and spark curiosity.
Connects the Community: We'll host workshops, author visits, and reading clubs that bring students, teachers, and parents together around the shared joy of literacy.
