Maryam Library Foundation's Double Impact: Empowering Young Minds in Kudupali
The Maryam Library Foundation is thrilled to unveil its latest endeavor: a dual library project in the heart of Kudupali, designed to serve both the GMB Boys' School and GHPS Girls' School. We believe that education knows no gender boundaries, and we're committed to providing equal access to knowledge and resources for all children.
GMB & GHPS Schools: A Tale of Two Schools, One Vision
Within a shared compound in Kudupali, two distinct schools are nurturing the minds of tomorrow. GMB Boys' School and GHPS Girls' School together educate 291 students across grades 1 to 7, with a dedicated team of 12 teachers guiding them in the rich tradition of the Kannada language. OSAAT's recent construction of four classrooms in 2024 has provided a wonderful foundation for our library project.
Building a Shared Space for Shared Dreams
While the schools had a combined small library with 800 books, we aimed to elevate this space into a vibrant hub of learning. The shared nature of this project presents a unique opportunity to foster collaboration, inclusivity, and a sense of community among students from both schools.
Library Project: From Vision to Reality for the Kudupali Library Project
Our goal was to create a library that served as a beacon of knowledge and inspiration for all students. We have been able to create a space that:
Celebrates Kannada Culture and Literature: We expanded the collection with a rich array of Kannada-language books, catering to diverse interests and reading levels, ensuring every student finds something that resonates with them.
Fosters a Love of Reading: Cozy reading corners, comfortable seating, and engaging displays create an inviting atmosphere where students can lose themselves in stories and ideas.
Promotes Collaboration and Learning: We provided spaces for group study, projects, and interactive learning activities, encouraging students from both schools to learn and grow together.
Empowers Student Leadership: The school can work with the teachers and student librarian to create opportunities for student involvement in library management and programming, fostering a sense of ownership and pride.
Why Kudupali?
Kudupali represents a unique opportunity to make a double impact with a single project. By investing in the shared library, we have not only providing access to books and resources but also fostering a sense of community and shared purpose among students from both schools.
